ABOUT US
Middle Georgia REACT members primarily assist the Bibb Sheriff's Office (BSO) by performing routine traffic control duties for the following:
- Traffic accidents (to include those with fatalities)
- Emergency conditions (to include problems associated with severe weather conditions)
- Bicycle races (example: Tour de Georgia)
- Marathons and biathlons
- Funerals
- Special events (examples: Presidential motorcades, the annual July 4th celebration at Lake Tobesofkee, and several Cherry Blossom Festival events)
Middle Georgia REACT members also assist other agencies and non-profit organizations as requested.
During the Thanksgiving - Christmas holiday season, REACT members participate in an Armed Robbery Detail ("AR Detail"). The members ride in all areas of Bibb County to check on those commercial enterprises that are subject to armed robberies (such as liquor stores, convenience stores, motels, and fast food restaurants).
